Beirut Port to test emergency siren system on Sunday

The Port of Beirut administration has announced that it will conduct a test of the port's emergency siren system on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

In a statement, the port authority said the procedure is part of technical testing and preparedness measures aimed at ensuring the effectiveness and operational readiness of the warning system.

The administration stressed that the siren activation is only a technical test and should not cause concern among residents or people living in nearby areas.
