Aoun to the Lebanese on Easter: Resurrection remains the essence of our faith, no matter how long the time of suffering

Marking the holy Easter occasion of the Christian communities that follow the Western calendar, President Michel Aoun expressed on Saturday his well-wishes to the Lebanese in general, and Christians in particular.

He said: “However long the time of pain lasts, yet resurrection remains the essence of our faith and the core of our genuine affiliation with this wound-burdened nation ever since the dawn of its existence.”

Aoun deemed that Easter this year comes with a unique message of salvation, involving all of humanity because of the Corona epidemic that is reaping daily the lives of people that have outnumbered the victims of major wars.

However, the President appealed to everyone “not to surrender to the culture of death and its repercussions.”

Addressing the Lebanese who are in home quarantine and those lying in patients’ beds, as well as all those in the first lines of defense from the medical and nursing body, who are far from their families during this glorious “Day of Resurrection”, the President stressed that “joint suffering will definitely yield the spirit of solidarity and active values through which our country will be renewed, so that it can move forward towards the horizons of life, recovered from its pains, and proud of its sons of various affiliations."
