British officials to Qahwaji: Lebanon is an important ally in the region

Army Commander General Jean Qahwaj conducted an official visit to the United Kingdom, as a guest of the Chief of the Defense Staff, General Sir David Richards. During the course of his visit General Qahwaji met with senior officials at the Ministry of Defense, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the National Security Council

In a statement issued by the British Embassy in Lebanon, officials in the British government stressed Lebanon’s importance as an ally in the region, calling on the international community to deploy every effort to help the army in limiting the risk of instability in Syria and preventing the undermining of Lebanese National Security.
