Sheikh Zougheib: 9 remaining Lebanese hostages remain held in a danger zone
Sheikh Abbas Zougheib, who was appointed by the Higher Shiite Council to follow up on the case of the Lebanese hostages in Syria, called on the Turkish government on Thursday to "bring an end to the case of the nine remaining Lebanese hostages still being held in Syria," noting that the ongoing shelling poses a threat to the lives of the hostages who are detained in the region of Aazaz near the Turkish-Syrian border.

In this context, Zougheib held Turkey responsible for the ongoing detention of the nine Lebanese detainees, pointing that their relatives will not exempt Turkey from accountability. The relatives are urging the Turkish authorities to "end this tragic case as soon as possible and bring the hostages back to their families."
