Haniyeh grants his deputy all prerogative powers

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh announced on Tuesday that his deputy Ziad al-Zaza has been granted all his prerogatives in order for him to "devote himself to the leadership of the Hamas movement in Gaza."

In a speech he made during a ceremony held to honor his government’s former ministers at a cultural center in Gaza, Haniyeh said that "al-Zaza has been granted the full prerogatives of the prime minister."

This was the first time Haniyeh speaks publicly on granting powers to a deputy.
