Geagea says Syria has proxies in Lebanon to implement its biddings

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea held a press conference on Tuesday whereby he said that the ruling political system encourages crimes, urging the current cabinet to present its resignation.

"If Siniora's cabinet were ruling, the killing machine would have been weaker," Geagea said.

He added that they are not seeking to hinder work of the constitutional institutions, noting that "their goal is to the stop the assassination apparatus overtaking the country."

"The political life in Lebanon is insane, it is ruled by the decree of murder," he said.

Geagea stressed that March 14 forces are continuing their discussions with President Michel Sleiman, "even if they do not intend on participating in dialogue sessions, noting that Hezbollah, is not yet ready for any talks."

Geagea declared that Speaker Nabih Berri is considered among the people who acted in a reasonable manner despite the current situation, calling on him "to understand their position."

In his concluding remarks, the LF leader said that the Syrian regime has plans for further assassination attempts, stressing that it also has proxies in Lebanon ready to implement its biddings.
