March 14 determined to topple government

It is without doubt that March 14 forces are determined to topple the government and insisting on boycotting any dialogue that could be held with opponents or neutralists before the resignation of Mikati's cabinet.

Answering a question on how to achieve this goal at a time when foreign diplomats are keen on avoiding any political void, Future bloc MP Ahmad Fatfat told LBCI that the US' stance changed when the American officials heard March 14's point of view.

In this context, Fatfat recalled the incidents of 2005, following the assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri when the Lebanese people succeeded, by exerting pressure, in forcing the Syrian army to leave Lebanon.

Fatfat warned that March 14 forces might have to recourse to escalation reaching peaceful disobedience in case their demands were not met.

For his part, the coordinator of March 14 Secretariat General Fares Soueid told LBCI that the alliance's forces have placed a plan to boycott the meetings of the Parliamentary committees and to continue the sit-in.

Soueid described the international community as "incapable of providing the Lebanese people with guarantees on their survival."
