Sleiman: Dialogue spares us disasters

"National dialogue spares us further disasters," Lebanese President Michel Sleiman said on Friday, urging all politicians to gather around the national dialogue table.

In his Eid al-Adha address, Sleiman hoped that on this occasion, the Lebanese would put the higher interest of Lebanon above anything else, deploring all political assassinations “which took a heavy toll on the Lebanese population.”

On another note, Sleiman hoped for a lasting ceasefire in Syria as a prelude for a comprehensive national dialogue between Assad and the opposition and the return of the displaced to their homes.
