Berri: Parliament to continue performing duties, committees to work like never before

A number of deputies met with Speaker Nabih Berri during Wednesday MPs Gathering, and stressed that Berri is still taking his time before calling for a general parliamentary session on November 9, adding that he confirmed that the Parliament will not stop performing its duties and the committees will be working like never before.

In this context, Berri stressed the importance of the national dialogue, noting that negativity does not lead to any solution.

For his part, MP Robert Ghanem stressed on Wednesday that he will participate in the meetings of the joint parliamentary committees, and not boycott parliament's sessions, noting that the existing crisis is neither related to the government nor to parliament, but in fact is a national crisis affecting the agreement between Lebanese parties and the country's components.

From Ain al-Tineh, Ghanem said that the nation's interest resides in cooperative work among all parties to reach a minimum understanding with President Michel Sleiman in order to end the crisis.
