REPORT: Judiciary moves against counterfeit medications

State Prosecutor Judge Hatem Madi issued on Tuesday investigative warrants against Abdel Latif Fneish aka Mahmoud, brother of Minister Mohammed Fneish and Fouad Ahmad Wehbe in the file of counterfeit medications.

In this framework, Deputy Atef Majdalani met with Judge Madi and said that the latter sent investigative teams to the Ministry of Health.

In this context, sources told LBCI that within the span of the next 48 hours all involved medication depots will be permanently shut down, adding that drug distributing companies have begun withdrawing counterfeit medicines as of today.

It is worth mentioning that the results of the investigations will surface within 72 hours.
