Hariri meets with Monsignor Mamberti at the Vatican

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri kicked off his visit to the Vatican on Tuesday by meeting with the Secretary for Relations with States Monsignor Dominique Mamberti, in the presence of Lebanon's Ambassador to the Vatican Georges Khoury, Hariri's Chief of Staff, Nader Hariri, Advisor Daoud al-Sayegh, and Monsignor Alberto Ortega from the Secretariat of State, a statement by Hariri's press office indicated on Tuesday.

Lebanon, the region, and Syria topped the discussions.

Later this afternoon, Hariri is expected to meet with the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi. He is scheduled to meet with Pope Benedict XVI tomorrow.
