PM Mikati to meet with France's Hollande

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati continues his visit to France whereby he met with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius. The two discussed the latest events in Syria and the situation in Gaza.

In this context, Mikati asked Fabius to provide aid to the 130,000 Syrian refugees in Lebanon, stressing that Lebanon is no longer capable of "helping them."

For his part, Fabius promised that his country will help Lebanon in the Syrian refugees issue.

On the Lebanese crisis, Fabius called on parties to seek dialogue in solving their differences, emphasizing that France supports the cabinet's self-distancing policy.

Mikati is expected to visit the Gallery of Islamic Arts in the Louvre museum in Paris.

Mikati will hold talks on Wednesday with the French President Francois Hollande and will meet with the Lebanese Diaspora in France.

Sources said to LBCI that talks between Mikati and the French officials will focus on the importance of keeping Lebanon away from any political void in order to maintain the country's stability.

It is worth noting that Mikati will return to Lebanon on Wednesday night to participate in the Independence Day ceremony.
