Armenian Pr. visits the Armenian Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia

The Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and the First Lady Rita visited on Tuesday the Armenian Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia in Antelias.              

The President was received by the Catholicos Aram I, Bishops, and priests of the Armenian sect in addition to Armenian Ministers and Deputies, Heads of political parties and representatives of various Armenian clubs.                                      

Afterward, Pr.Sargsyan visited the Armenian Martyrs Monument whereby he lay a wreath in remembrance.                                                

After a short closed meeting between the President Sargysyan and Catholicos Aram I, the latter said they are still following the Armenian case and they ask from Turkish authorities to recognize the Armenian genocide.                         

For his Part president Sargsyan said that the Armenian Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia is hosting Armenians throughout the world and defending their case.                    

It is worth noting that Catholicos Aram I awarded the President the Grand Cross, the highest honor given to a state's President.

Syrgysian and an accompanying delegation had arrived to Beirut International Airport on Monday morning, where he was received by a number of Lebanese top officials.

He later held a joint press conference with the Lebanese president after the two had held brief talks.                  

Peace ranked high on the agenda with Sargysian stressing that Armenia's security lies within finding a peaceful resolution to the crises in the Middle East.
