Achrafieh blast victims may receive compensations soon

The committee in charge of following up on the families affected by the Achrafieh blast met at the office of MP Michel Feraoun in Achrafieh on Tuesday. It announced that over 500 cases were registered in collaboration with a LAF survey team.

“This process will end next week; damages will be assessed and the cases will be referred to the High Relief Commission which will, in turn, refer it to the prime ministry to secure enough funds for the Commission to start paying compensations,” the committee announced.

An explosion rocked a crowded neighborhood in Achrafieh on October 19, 2012, targeting and killing ISF Information Branch General Wissam Hassan.
