Sleiman, Charbel hold talks; discuss electoral preparations

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman expressed hope in terms of all Lebanese factions committing to the self distancing policy adopted by the government. He also called on all parties to adhere to national dialogue and the Baabda Declaration.

The President stressed on the importance of the measures taken by the Internal Security Forces and the LAF to prevent the movement of armed men in the country.

"If dialogue is not resumed, it would be impossible to keep a distance from regional crises," Sleiman added.

In this context, Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel briefed the President on the security situation in the country as well as the electoral law which was referred to the parliament.

Charbel discussed with Sleiman arrangements and preparations to be taken in order to hold parliamentary elections on due time and in one single day.
