Russian foreign minister fractures wrist in Istanbul

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who was in İstanbul along with President Vladimir Putin as part of an official visit on Monday, fractured his left wrist in the hotel where the Russian delegation is staying, sources have said.

No official statement was made on the issue. Russian officials brought the foreign minister to the Taksim Training and Research Hospital for treatment after the incident.

Lavrov was released from the hospital after his left hand was put into a cast. What led to the injury remains unknown at the moment as the Russian officials have declined to comment.
