Bodies of 3 Lebanese nationals killed in Talkalakh ambush return

Lebanese authorities received on Sunday the first three bodies from a group of 14 Lebanese gunmen killed in Talkalakh ambush in Syria, local clerics said, as fighting triggered by their death continued to shake the northern port town of Tripoli.

Earlier, three ambulances of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments, accompanied by the Lebanese general security entered on Sunday morning the Syrian territories to transport three bodies of Lebanese nationals who were killed in Talkalakh ambush. The three Lebanese nationals were identified as Malek Ziad al-Hajj Dib, Khodor Mustafa Alameddine and Abdel Hamid Ali al-Agha.          

Accordingly, the Lebanese General Security has taken intensive security measures on the borders, as a delegation from Dar al-Fatwa was present to represent the Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani. The delegation was headed by the Secretary of Fatwa in the Republic Sheikh Amin al-Kerdy, accompanied by the General Director of Endowments Sheikh Hicham Khalifah, Director of Public Relations at Dar al-Fatwa, Sheikh Shady al-Masri, Secretary of Fatwa in Tripoli Sheikh Mohammad Tarek Imam, Sheikh Raed Hulayhel and Sheikh Amin Raad.      

Tensions in northern Lebanon have been high since at least 14 Sunni Muslim Lebanese and Palestinian gunmen from the area were killed by Syrian security forces a week ago in a Syrian border town.
