Defense Council discusses situation in Tripoli

The Higher Defense Council held a meeting on Sunday under the chairmanship of the President Michel Sleiman, and discussed measures and means to face the unstable situation in Tripoli.

In this context, following the meeting a statement was issued whereby the council gave necessary instructions for the Lebanese Armed Forces and distributed the missions on the concerned administrative, keeping the decisions confidential in accordance with the law.

A private meeting was held between President Sleiman and PM Mikati prior to the meeting.
