Zahra: Franjieh’s attacks came upon Syria’s request

The Lebanese Forces Bloc MP Antoine Zahra slammed on Tuesday MP Sleiman Franjieh’s attacks against President Michel Sleiman, Saudi Arabia, the Future Movement and the Lebanese Forces, noting that “these attacks were implemented upon the request of his 'brother' and friend Bashar al-Assad."

In this context, Zahra issued a statement whereby he said that “if Franjieh’s team had really received the approval of his allies regarding the Orthodox gathering’s draft law, a deputy from Hezbollah, another from Amal and a deputy from Franjieh’s bloc should have signed the similar proposal presented by MPs Abi Nasr and Alain Aoun and they should have also approved the draft law presented on behalf of the Lebanese Forces.”

Zahra added, “after Franjieh indirectly said that Samir Geagea was the one who suggested the adoption of the Orthodox gathering’s proposal in Bkerke, he should have asked his representative Minister Youssef Saadeh about the reactions of the President, PM and Speaker as well as the refusal of other parties, which prompted the search for alternatives.”
