Salameh files lawsuit against MP Saqr

Attorney Rashad Salameh filed on Tuesday a lawsuit against MP Okab Saqr with the Cassation General Prosecution, which will be presented on Wednesday to the General Prosecutor Judge Hatem Madi.

Salameh noted that the lawsuit does not include lifting the immunity off Saqr.

In the last week of November, Lebanese television OTV and al-Akhbar newspaper, broadcast and printed a three-part series of the recordings that allegedly depict Sakr discussing arrangements to ship arms supplies to the Syrian opposition.

In turn, Sakr held a press conference on Thursday 6th of December whereby he challenged the Syrian government and Lebanese rivals to prove his involvement. Sakr lashed out at accusers, stating that he had been providing humanitarian aid to the Syrian people, including milk for infants and blankets.
