Vegetable carts removed from Sidon's streets

Units of the Internal Security Forces and teams of the Information Branch conducted on Saturday a wide campaign to remove irregularities, vegetable carts and metal barriers from the streets of Sidon.

The campaign was launched at the commercial market and arrived to Sidon’s port and other streets and squares in the city, where the ISF teams transported the carts and barriers with the vehicles of municipality’s emergency teams.

These measures angered the merchants who headed to the municipality and demanded to take back their seized belongings.

In this context, Sidon Mayor Ibrahim al-Bisat stated that the security forces are the ones who confiscated the merchandise, stressing that the General Prosecutor will be deciding whether they will be returned or not.

The campaign came after the Municipality has sent official warnings to the violators to commit to the decisions of the municipal council.
