Various traffic misdemeanors on Lebanese roads leave 2 dead, 1 injured

58-year-old Lebanese citizen, identified as Jawdat Sleiman Asaad from Mejdel Anjar was killed on Tuesday evening, when his motorcycle collided with a 2005 Chevrolet car holding the registration plate number 385936/M driven by Fayez al-Soud on Bar Elias - al-Masnaa Highway.

The driver of the Chevrolet was arrested for investigation.

However, 47-year-old citizen Yahia Hassan Khatib was killed on Wednesday when he was hit by a white Chrysler with a registration plate number 424074/J driven by citizen Atef Chakroun on the Nehme highway. The driver was immediately arrested and his car was seized upon judicial notice.

On the other hand, an unknown assailant driving a Mercedes 300 opened fire towards a Kia driven by 22-year-old Bilal Skafy on the eastern side of the Khaldeh Highway, hitting him in the back. Skafy was taken to al-Hajj Hospital in Jiyeh for treatment, while the shooter escaped to an unknown destination.
