Geagea to Sleiman: Alternative lies within the cabinet's resignation

            
The Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea stressed on Thursday that what is stopping "them" from attending the national dialogue sessions is the team which is committed to "annihilating" its members, noting that the Baabda declaration mirrors the beliefs of March 14 camp.        

In an open letter addressed to President Michel Sleiman from Mehrab, Geagea reiterated his party's commitment to a serious and constructive dialogue, accusing the "other party" of using the dialogue table as a pretext to practice terrorism and political and security blackmail. "We reject having to choose between illegitimate weapons or chaos," he said.           

Geagea added that the decision to boycott the national talks is a normal reaction to ongoing assassinations; pointing that the alternative lies within the current cabinet's resignation and the formation of a new government to oversee the elections.               

Geagea addressed President Sleiman saying: "Mr. President, our insistence on holding the elections as scheduled according to the Constitution, goes in line with our quest to replace the 60s electoral law with another law which ensures fair representation for all the Lebanese people."                

In this context, the LF leader declared that they are ready to end their boycott and participate again in the parliament sessions, when the speaker calls for a meeting to discuss and pass a new electoral law.
