Sayyed: If Geagea was innocent, why hasn’t he filed lawsuits against his oppressors?

Major General Jamil Sayyed stressed his refusal to get dragged into useless media debates with Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea, pointing out that if Geagea considers himself innocent of the blood of Dani Chamoun and his family, innocent of the bombing of Our Lady of Salvation Church; if he considers that he was a wronged political prisoner from 1995 to 2005 and that the provisions issued against him by the Judicial Council in these crimes and the assassination of Rashid Karameh were all based on false witnesses under the reign of Colonel Jamil Sayyed, then why hasn’t he filed a lawsuit against Sayyed or any of the officials who reportedly “wronged him or any of his fighters”?        

In a statement, Sayyed said that in this case, instead of issuing empty statements, Geagea should follow in his footsteps and spare no legal or judicial means down to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon to prosecute the false witnesses who misled investigations into the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and led to his political and arbitrary detention for 4 years.
