REPORT: Residential fires break out in Alissar and Ghadir, 2 dead

A fire erupted at a cellphone shop in Alissar, Metn, killing Ethiopians Lidya Kassem Abdel Chkour and Eleni Liyoul Suzard. The fire was reportedly caused by an electrical friction, spreading through the building’s entrance and makeshift store owned by Elie Cherfan and nearby stores.

In Ghadir-Jounieh, an electrical friction in the first floor of a building also caused a residential fire; however, civil defense teams and firefighters managed to extinguish it immediately and evacuate the building without any significant material damages.
