Jordan’s King says regional changes must push Israel toward peace

The Jordanian King Abdullah II stressed that the political changes taking place in the Middle Eastern region must push Israel to pursue peace and abstain from having recourse to unilateral measures that hinder peace efforts, calling for holding direct negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

King Abdullah II noted that these measures include the settlements, the attacks targeting Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and attempts to "Judaize" the Holy City, according to a statement issued by the Royal Court.
