Jumblatt: Sleiman, Mikati work on preserving Lebanon's stability

Progressive Socialist Party leader, MP Walid Jumblatt stated on Wednesday that the only way to end the tragedy in Syria is via political means.

In a statement to “Voice of Russia”, Jumblatt stressed the importance of President Michel Sleiman's visit to Russia, noting that the first concern of the Lebanese people is to prevent the repercussions of the Syrian war from affecting the country.

On the other hand, Jumblatt called for resuming dialogue between all Lebanese political parties, pointing out that "the forces boycotting the national talks think that they are able to define the future of Lebanon."

"President Sleiman is exerting all efforts to hold the dialogue; he is a wise and balanced politician who is working, in coordination with PM Najib Mikati, to preserve the country's stability," Jumblatt added.
