MP Fayad: We will confront all attempts to distort truths, mislead public opinion

Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Ali Fayad said Sunday that the possibility of reaching a new electoral law still exists, considering that the dispute that erupted following the last meeting held by the electoral sub-parliamentary committee was “out of context, unjustified and did not reflect the atmosphere which prevailed during the meeting.”

During a celebration held by Hezbollah in Zefta, Fayad said: “We were open and flexible during all the meetings that were held to find a new electoral law; however, when we see parties trying to distort truths and mislead the public opinion, we will confront them by reiterating the necessity of holding elections on time.”

Fayad stressed that the new electoral law must preserve parity and balance, reminding the Lebanese of the regional turmoil and the critical domestic situation both on the security and political levels.
