Bassil launches project to build oil storage complex in Tripoli

Energy Minister Gebran Bassil launched on Thursday a project to build an oil storage complex in Tripoli.

Bassil stressed the necessity of such a project, dubbing it strategic "since the oil storage in Lebanon is limited, any exceptional conditions imposed by the weather or other factors can directly affect the power supply and the local market".

The project includes the construction of 38 new reservoirs for all the oil derivatives, as well as related infrastructure and pipes, and supplying the ships with pumps and necessary equipment.
