Rai: Tripoli and its residents are in our hearts and prayers

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Rai headed to Tripoli on Friday afternoon to hold a mass on the occasion of Saint Maroun’s Day.

During the mass, Rai delivered a speech in which he stated that today’s visit to Tripoli is a confirmation of the faith in its residents, hoping for the swift return of Tripoli and the North's Mufti Sheikh Malek al-Chaar to Lebanon.

“Tripoli and its residents are in our hearts and prayers”, Rai stressed.

This visit comes in the absence of Mufti al-Chaar who is currently outside the county for security reasons.

Previously, Rai had postponed his visit to Tripoli two times upon the request of al-Chaar due to the permanently unstable security situation in the city.
