LAF pursue security measures in Arsal amid residents’ resentment

The Lebanese Armed Forces, mainly the Special Forces Regiment, are pursuing their inspection measures at the entrances of the town of Arsal while conducting patrols throughout the area.

Arsal residents are expressing resentment towards the measures taken by the LAF stressing that mediation have not led to any result yet.

In a related context, Al-Labwe mayor Ramez Amhaz told LBCI via Nharkom Said that his town’s residents love and appreciate Arsal’s residents. His call comes in response to comments made by Arsal’s mayor Ali Hjairi via Kalam Ennas last night whereby he accused the Labweh locals of being thugs and thieves.

“His derogatory remarks undermine coexistence in the region,” he said.
