REPORT: Israel to face further international isolation

Israel anticipated the upcoming visit of the US President Barack Obama with further settlement construction in the West Bank.    

In this context, Israeli officials, mainly the head of Israel's national Security Council Jacob Amidror, warned that Israel might lose a number of its allies and could face further international isolation, due to the projects that are being implemented by the government and are raising troubles with Washington and some European states.     

Accordingly, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ended the debate by declaring that he will change neither the settlement policy nor the decisions he has already taken.       

Consequently, the ongoing disputes over this issue led to the failure of the negotiations conducted between Netanyahu and "Yesh Atid" (There Is a Future) party headed by Yair Lapid, who considers that peace talks with Palestine are a fundamental condition for his participation in the government.      

On the other hand, polls have shown that the rate of people who call on the government to intensify its focus on security matters has decreased, reaching only 5%, a rate considered by some people as a failure of the intimidation campaign led by Netanyahu.
