Sit-in staged in Beirut in solidarity with Bahraini opposition

The Bahrain Forum for Human Rights staged on Friday a sit-in outside the ESCWA headquarters in Beirut, in solidarity with the Bahraini opposition.

Sources told LBCI that during the sit-in, a letter was delivered to the representative of the United Nations in Beirut, which includes the demands of the opposition members who call on the UN to interfere in order to pressure the Bahraini government, leading it to implement the recommendations of the conferences held to protect Human Rights in Bahrain. The opposition is also urging the government to release the political officials and human rights activists who have been detained.

Top political figures participated in the sit-in, to express solidarity with the Bahraini people.
