Hariri: Government is responsible for neglecting national stability

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri said on Thursday that the events taking place on the Syrian-Lebanese borders are extremely dangerous, criticizing the government's silence over the alleged involvement of Hezbollah members in Syria alongside regime forces.

“What is Hezbollah doing on the Syrian borders and who entitled it to defend the Lebanese border if we are assuming that it is seeking to halt the attacks of Syrian armed groups?” Hariri said in a statement.

“What happened to the government's policy of disassociation regarding the use of the Lebanese lands as a field for the Syrian war?” he asked.

The statement continued that “the government is unconsciously permitting Hezbollah to jeopardize national security through its intervention in the Syrian conflict,” noting that this adds a new evidence of the danger behind the use of illegal weapons.

Hariri held the government responsible for the “terrible disregard for national stability”.
