Karami: I will run for elections no matter the electoral law adopted

Minister of Youth and Sports Faisal Karami declared on Tuesday his candidacy to the parliamentary elections "no matter the electoral law adopted."

“We have our motives, we are committed to the people, our services and our friends, and our national positions are clear and honest,” he stressed.

During an interview with journalists at Beirut airport prior to his flight to Riyadh to meet Saudi officials to discuss preparations for the conference of the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports which is expected to be held in Lebanon during the month of April, Karami said that the file of his assassination attempt is still in the hands of the security and judicial apparatuses. He regretted the security chaos prevailing in the country.

On Tripoli’s situation, Karami said that the city is "suffering", calling on all security forces and concerned authorities to take the necessary measures to prevent another battle from erupting.
