Mikati: We are in the midst of finalizing the wage scale's funding sources

Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Wednesday that the Supreme Defense Council is keen on dealing with some security files wisely but some parties insisted on standing against the State and violating the laws, stressing that the violations committed by any party will be punished.

On the onset of the cabinet's session, PM Mikati said that "no one opposes the series of rank and salaries. We are in the midst of finalizing the funding sources," he added.

In addition, Mikati called on the Union Coordination Committee to put an end to the escalation that according to him "will not pay off".

"We are adamant on the employee's rights, but we should also take into consideration the security and financial situation and I am working with a clear conscious," Mikati said.

It is noteworthy that the session began in the absence of the Public Affairs Minister Ghazi al-Aridi, the Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abou Faour and the State Minister Salim Karam.
