Head of the opposition Syrian National Coalition visits Aleppo

Moaz al-Khatib, head of the opposition Syrian National Coalition, visited on Sunday Aleppo region for the first time since his election.

Earlier, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that 34 regime forces were killed when the opposition fighters attacked the police academy in the town of Khan al-Assal in Reef Aleppo, northern Syria.

The Syrian opposition fighters seized on Saturday night a prison in the province of Raqqa, northern Syria following clashes that lasted several days, according to the Syrian Observatory.

The Observatory issued a statement whereby it reported that the regime forces withdrew from the central prison of Raqqa, located in the north of the city of Raqqa, while the opposition forces took control of the prison and freed hundreds of prisoners.
