Rai: We should pray for politicians to protect Lebanon

The Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai headed on Sunday a holy mass at the monastery of St John-Maron in Kfarhay, on the occasion of St. John day.                

Patriarch Rai said that he is praying for the Lebanese officials and people, calling on them to cooperate to protect Lebanon, so that it remains a center for culture and education on both Arab and international levels.            

Commenting on the Pope’s resignation, Rai noted that, by resigning the Pope has reached the “peak of education”, adding that “we should all pray for God to send a shepherd able to lead the ship with his heart.”
