GCC warns Lebanon of repercussions of failed dissociation

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) warned Lebanon against not fully complying to the self-distancing policy regarding the Syrian conflict.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the GCC announced that the council’s Secretary General, Abdul Latif Zayani, met with Lebanese President Michel Sleiman in the presence of the ambassadors of the council’s 6 member states.

During the meeting, Sleiman expressed his aspiration that Lebanon would apply this policy and commit to its official positions.
