Berri condemns attack against clerics, calls for severe sanctions against criminals

Speaker Nabih Berri condemned on Wednesday the attack against the four clerics, calling for imposing the most severe sanctions against the assaulters.

During Wednesday's deputies meeting, Berri hailed the role of the concerned officials, the LAF, the security forces and the judiciary, praising the wise and responsible stances launched by all parties which prevented strife in the country.

On another note, Berri informed the deputies of the outcome of his meeting with PM Najib Mikati and Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai in Rome, and the ideas shared regarding the electoral law.

Separately, Berri met with Interior and Municipalities Minister Marwan Charbel and discussed current developments and the security situation.
