REPORT: Is there a process to extend Rifi’s term?

Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri is expected to receive within the upcoming hours a petition requesting him to call for a parliamentary session before the end of the month to look into an urgent draft law pertaining to the amendment of the age of retirement for the leaders of the security apparatuses.

In this context, March 14 aims, through this petition to extend the term of the ISF Chief Ashraf Rifi. Among the officials who signed the petition, March 14 deputies, National Struggle Front’s MPs, MP Ahmad Karami, while sources say that outgoing PM will sign it.

This report will expose the position of MP Jamal Jarrah regarding this matter and the details pertaining to the issue of the extension.
