Eight Syrians kidnapped in Wadi Khaled, LAF kick off search operations

Sources told LBCI on Monday that Fhayyed al-Ahmad family from Wadi Khaled kidnapped a van carrying 8 Syrian Alawite workers at the Kamar Bridge crossing point. The family said that they kidnapped the Syrians in order to exchange them with a relative held in Syria.                 

The Syrian abductees were identified as Mohsen al-ali, Hazem al-Hassan, Salman al-Ali, Tamim al-Hassan, Nassim Khabouri, Moulsem Gharib, Abdo Gharib and Yamen al-Khabouri.

In this context, the mayor of the town of al-Hisheh Daham al-Nayef said that the Syrians are staying at the residence of al-Ahmad family at the town, stressing that they are “guests, not abductees”.                

He added that the cause of the incident is that the family of Hussein Fahed al-Ahmad thought that among the Syrian workers was the man responsible for the kidnapping of a member of their family Mohammad Hussein Fahed al-Ahmad more than one year ago.

The Lebanese Armed Forces arrived to al-Hisheh region in Wadi Khaled to search for the kidnapped van passengers.
