REPORT: Kahwagi: LAF’s achievements prove its determination to prevent strife

The Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Jean Kahwagi stressed on Wednesday the need to intensify the measures on the ground and to work with all powers and available capabilities in order to preserve stability on the border regions.         

He added that the regional conflicts, the continuous political and factional bickering and the smear campaigns targeting the military institution cannot affect the performance of the Lebanese army and its firmness in dealing with all kinds of challenges.             

While visiting the second Land Border Regiment deployed on the eastern border in the regions of Hermel and Baalbek and the second Intervention Regiment deployed in the region of Riaq and its surroundings, Kahwagi noted that all the achievements made by the Lebanese army, whether in putting out security conflicts or in arresting terrorist and criminal gangs, prove the determination of the LAF to prevent strife and internal chaos.               

In this context, the LAF chief called on the army to remain vigilant in the face of risks and challenges and to seek further national achievements.
