Rai says failure to reach consensus over electoral law unacceptable

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai said on Saturday that it is “unacceptable that the political parties have failed to reach an agreement over a new electoral law.”           

Speaking from Bogota, Rai added that “it is unacceptable that Lebanon does not have an acting cabinet during this stage,” categorically rejecting any attempt to interfere in the Syrian affairs, whether it was to support the regime or the opposition.
