Saudi Mufti calls for moving against Hezbollah

Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Aal Al Sheikh called on Friday on governments and clerics of all Islamic states to take action against Hezbollah, following the latter’s intervention in Syria’s battles against the armed opposition groups.

In a statement to the Saudi news agency, the mufti noted that Hezbollah’s behavior confirms the Saudi doubts regarding its links with Iran.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah has been reportedly sending well- trained group of armed men to fight alongside the Syrian army in the battles of al-Qusayr in central Syria, which is considered a strategic town in the region.

The town was captured on Wednesday May 5th by the Syrian regime forces alongside Hezbollah fighters, after being controlled by rebels for a year and a half.
