Bakeries sector will not see any increase in wages

Head of the Bakeries Union in Lebanon Kazem Ibrahim called on the Economy ministry Tuesday to increase the price of a pack of bread or to leave the price of a loaf of bread unaffected by any increase in salaries, like other commodities.

Ibrahim said that the bakeries sector increases salaries whenever needed due to a weak labor force, adding that the sector is committed to the price rates and weights set by the Economy ministry “so that I cannot make a penny-a-pound wage increase”.
