Hassan sounds alarm on Coronavirus spread

Caretaker Minister of Health Hamad Hassan sounded on Friday the alarm on the surge of Coronavirus cases in the country.

“We are heading towards a send wave of Coronavirus spread and ICU beds are not available,” he added.

Hassan also noted that the Lebanese healthcare system, both in its private and public sectors, must seriously prepare “to double the number of beds and provide the necessary service for the community and citizens."

The minister concluded by calling on all private hospitals which have so far been not opened Coronavirus departments to do so, mainly “since health systems around the world are ready to face the epidemic."
