Abou Sharaf to LBCI: We will witness in coming days significant increase of Coronavirus cases

Doctors Syndicate Head Sharaf Abou Sharaf said on Saturday that a sort of negligence and recklessness by the Lebanese people was observed lately, adding that Lebanon may witness the Italian scenario in terms of Coronavirus spread if things remain as they are now.

Abou Sharaf’s comments were made during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show whereby he noted that "the responsibility of the citizen equals to the responsibility of the state.”

“The Ministry of Interior cannot impose preventive measures by force,” he added.

He also noted that the increase of conducted PCR tests resulted in the increase of announced cases as well as the failure to comply with the preventive measures.

“As a result of recklessness, we will witness in the coming days a significant increase in the number of Coronavirus cases, which we did not expect," he added.
