MP Ghanem: Tuesday is the last day to present new electoral drafts

The parliamentary sub-committee resumed on Monday its meetings at al-Nejmeh Square, in an attempt to reach an agreement over an electoral draft law.

Following the meeting, MP Robert Ghanem said that deputies discussed the electoral draft presented by Development and Liberation Bloc MP Ali Bazzi and added that MP Akram Chehayyeb suggested increasing the number of electoral districts to 16.

MP Ghanem mentioned that Tuesday is the last day to suggest amendments on the current law and to present new electoral drafts.

Prior to the session, Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Ali Fayyad stressed that these days are decisive, while Lebanese Forces MP George Adwan expressed his optimism towards the sub-committee’s work.

For his part, Change and Reform bloc MP Alain Aoun noted that he will not present a new proposal.
