REPORT: UK's Hammond announces $29 million of British aid for Lebanese military
The Lebanese Armed Forces will receive another $29 million in aid for training, British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said on Thursday during a visit to the country.

Hammond, along with British trainers and Lebanese officers, visited a military air base in Hamat, North Lebanon, to watch Lebanese soldiers perform a drill.

During the visit, soldiers and Special Forces performed an arrest, a building raid and several other drill simulations.

The air base is already used as a location for the current UK aid program for the Lebanese army. Hammond said Britain had given Lebanon $11.1 million in aid for training to date and planned to donate further until 2019.
